For many gamers and keyboard enthusiasts, the biggest frustration is being stuck with permanent switches. If a single key fails or if you simply want to try a different typing feel—moving from clicky to linear, for example—you are usually forced to buy an entirely new board or break out a soldering iron. This lack of flexibility often prevents users from finding their perfect typing experience.
The Glorious GMMK TKL (Tenkeyless) 85% Keyboard is the world’s first mechanical keyboard featuring hot-swappable switches. This means you can easily “pop out” the switches and replace them with any brand or type you prefer in seconds. Combined with a premium sandblasted aluminum faceplate and a compact TKL layout, it offers the ultimate foundation for anyone looking to build a truly custom gaming station without the technical headache.
Key Features of the Glorious GMMK TKL
- Hot-Swappable Socket: Effortlessly change switches (Cherry, Gateron, or Kailh) without ever needing to solder.
- Compact TKL Layout: The 85% tenkeyless design saves desk space while keeping all the essential function keys.
- Premium Build: Features a sleek black sandblasted aluminum top plate for maximum durability and a professional feel.
- Vibrant RGB Backlighting: 16.8 million colors with various patterns and per-key customization via software.
- Modern USB-C Connectivity: A detachable USB-C wired connection ensures fast response times and easy cable management.

Why It’s Worth Buying
The Glorious GMMK TKL is widely considered the “entry point” into the world of high-end custom keyboards. It is worth buying because it grows with you. If you start as a gamer but move into professional writing, you can swap your gaming switches for tactile typing switches in minutes. Its TKL form factor is the perfect middle ground, providing more mouse space for competitive gaming while remaining fully functional for daily productivity. Plus, the metal top plate gives it a weighted, high-quality feel that budget plastic keyboards simply cannot match.
